Last week I bought myself the Core Collection from Real Techniques. (you can read my review here.) I loved my base make-up brushes so much that I went and purchased the Brow Set. I’ve been letting my brows grow out as I’ve been wanting to re-shape them, so I haven’t plucked or trimmed in ages – I guess now is the perfect time to try out the Brow Set and tidy them up because I’m starting to grow a mono-brow over here, ha.
First Impressions:
The Brow Kit comes in a clear plastic box and you can see the case, brushes and tools inside, on the back of the box it tells you what the brushes and tools are called. The five-piece Brow Set helps to create the perfect arch and incudes all of the tools you need to clean up, fill in, define, shape, conceal and highlight your eyebrows. The brushes are made from taklon bristles so they are 100% cruelty-free, easy to clean and long lasting. The Brow Set is perfect for beginners because it contains all the tools needed to create the perfect brow in one kit and it’s also great for experienced make-up geeks who want good quality, long-lasting brushes and tools.
What’s In The Box:
PANAROMIC CASE
The panoramic case is a dual carrier and stand which keeps brushes organized on your dressing table or for storing when your out and about. It is a white faux leather material which is wipe clean and has three compartments to store your brushes and tools in. It also has a purple elastic for storing other brushes or tools if you wish. The case has a clear plastic cover too which will protect your brushes from damage, dust and bacteria.
BROW SCISSORS
The brow scissors are made of stainless steel and they have rounded, precision tips for trimming fine hairs. They are good quality, sharp scissors and trim hairs easily. I use my spoolie to brush my brow hairs upwards then trim the top of my brows to keep them neat and tidy. I also use these for trimming false eyelashes to size too – false eyelashes always seem to be too long and wide for my eye shape, so these brow scissors have definitely come in handy.
SLANTED TWEEZERS
The slanted tweezers are also made of stainless steel and they have flat, slanted edges for perfectly shaping brows. They are white with a purple Real Techniques logo printed on them and they have a silver tip. The tweezers are really good and the flat slanted edge grabs hairs easily while the point is great for precise plucking and shaping. I also use these tweezers to apply my false eyelashes.
BROW BRUSH
The brow brush has a gorgeous purple metal with a black rubber grip. It also has ‘Real Techniques’ printed on the purple metal and it is labelled too so you know which brush is which. This brush is used for applying colour to your brows as well as for blending it in to give a natural appearance. It has a slanted, pointed tip which is perfect for outlining brows and for applying & blending colour too.
BROW SPOOLIE
The brow spoolie has fine, firm bristles and is perfect for grooming stray hairs and blending in brow pencil and powders. It also has a gorgeous purple metal with a black rubber grip. It has the ‘Real Techniques’ logo printed on it and it’s also labelled. I use mine for taming fly away hairs, for trimming my brows, for shaping my brows before I apply my powder and for blending my colour in too so my brows look more natural.
BROW HIGHLIGHTING BRUSH
The brow highlighting brush is perfectly sized for highlighting the brow bone or for concealing around your brow. I use this brush to conceal the outline of my brows to give them a bold, flawless finish. I also use this brush for dabbing cream and powder highlighters on my brow-bones and cheek-bones. The brow brush is also purple with a black rubber grip and it has the RT logo printed on it too.
My Thoughts On The Brow Set
I love this little brow set, it has everything you need to create perfect brows and it comes with a gorgeous white leather storage case which can easily be popped in your handbag. I have used the scissors to tidy up my brows and trim hairs that are too long and my brows looks neat and tidy. The tweezers aree really good to and they help to create a lovely shape and perfect arch. I use my spoolie everyday to blend in my colour and I use the brow highlighting brush for highlighting and concealing both my eyes and cheeks. I absolutely love the brow brush, my fave brush out of the set. It creates such a perfect, straight line when I’m outlining my brows and it blends eyebrow powders well. I love how it gives my brows clean edges. The bristles haven’t frayed either which is good. I love the Brow Set and I use it everyday!, They are good quality, soft, firm brushes and the scissors and tweezers aren’t cheap rip-offs – at £15.77 I think the set is great value for money so I do 100% recommend it if you’re thinking about giving it a go. I so cant wait to try some other make-up brushes out from Real Techniques as I’m developing quite a soft spot for them.
